Her Story

My journey began back in 2022, When I found myself at a crossroads in life. I was searching for something that could provide me with structure, discipline, and a positive redirection. That’s when I discovered Muay Thai. Which later on became more than just a sport. It was a way to channel my energy, build resilience, and connect with a community that shared a common passion. Stepping into the gym for the first time, I was nervous but excited, eager to immerse myself in the art of eight limbs.

For a year, I threw myself into training, trying my best to soak up every technique, combination, and lesson. Muay Thai became a sanctuary, a place where I could leave behind the stresses from school and life, and to also focus on personal growth. However, as time went on, cracks began to show in my journey. I felt like my journey in Muay Thai had zero progressions and I was struggling to even truly acheive something small from the sport itself. The training environment also lacked the guidance and structure I needed to progress in the sport. Without a mentor to steer me in the right direction and a supportive atmosphere to nurture my progress, my passion began to wane. By the end of 2022, I eventually fall out of Muay Thai, unsure if I would ever return as I was determined that I could never accomplish anything in Muay Thai.

Despite stepping away, the fire for Muay Thai never fully extinguished. It lingered, waiting for the right moment to reignite. In 2023, that moment came. I found a new gym with experienced coaches and a vibrant community. This time, the environment was everything I had been missing before. Under the guidance of skilled trainers, my skills improved rapidly, and my love for the sport deepened. Training no longer felt dreadful. I also began to realised that it is a journey filled with endless joy but also many setbacks. I found myself wanting to push for greater heights and determined to stay discipline in all aspects with the help of this sport.

As I progressed, I began to realised that Muay Thai was not just about personal achievements as I found immense fulfilment in helping others improve their technique and sharing the knowledge of the sport to the best of my abilities. Slowly but surely, I transitioned into a coaching role. Teaching became an extension of my own journey, allowing me to continuously pick up something new to learn from as my coaching journey goes on. Watching others grow with the help of my guidance was incredibly rewarding and reaffirmed my belief in the transformative power of Muay Thai.

One of the most fulfilling aspects of coaching has been working with kids. Teaching young learners has brought a new dimension to my journey. Kids approach Muay Thai with an unfiltered enthusiasm and curiosity that is infectious. Through coaching them, I’ve learned to be more patient, creative, and adaptive. Each child brings their own unique challenges and strengths, and it has been an incredible experience to help them build confidence, discipline, and skills both on and off the mats. With kids, the focus is not just on technique but also on fostering a love for the sport and instilling values that extend beyond the gym. Seeing their eyes light up when they master a new move or overcome a fear reminds me why I started this journey. Coaching kids has taught me that success is not just about winning matches or perfecting form, it is about building character, resilience, and a sense of community.

Looking back, my journey with Muay Thai has been far from linear. It has been a story of setbacks and comebacks, doubt and rediscovery. Through it all, I have learned that the right minsdset, environment and support can make all the difference. Today, as both a practitioner and a coach, I am truly grateful for every twist and turn in this path. They have shaped me into the person I am and allowed me to inspire others to find their own strength through Muay Thai.
