Why we're just describing the hour, not selling it
Most corporate wellness vendors lead with testimonials and stock photos. We'd rather tell you exactly what happens, because the teams that end up loving this are the ones who knew what to expect walking in.The hour, minute by minute
0-10 min: Arrival and brief. No uniforms needed — gym clothes and sneakers. A coach runs through the basics: how to make a fist properly, how to hold pads, what "safe" looks like for the next 45 minutes.10-20 min: Warm-up. Light footwork and shadow drills. This is also where the nerves usually drop — by minute 15, most of the room has stopped worrying about looking silly.
20-40 min: Pad work in pairs. The core of the session. Partners rotate between holding pads and hitting them, working combinations the coach calls out. This is where cross-team conversation actually happens — you end up paired with people outside your usual desk cluster.
40-50 min: A team drill. Something collaborative — a relay, a group combination, occasionally a light competitive element between sub-teams. This is the part people usually mention afterward.
50-60 min: Cool-down and debrief. Stretching, water, and a minute for the coach to point out what the room did well. No forced "share how you feel" circle — people talk if they want to.
